"Kindly descried as poetic, my drawings in 2 and 3 dimensions frequently set out to evoke the movement of air, light and water and their interaction with coastal forms; usually islands and skerries. The weather also underpins much of the work! These elements of my marine drawings are intertwined with references to navigation and migration. Sometimes they also reference viking design and culture.

I trained in fine art at Birmingham College of Art and Design  and Portsmouth Polytechnic and  later in art education at Liverpool University.

Following an MA in Museum and Gallery Education at London University I taught in Liverpool and West Lancashire and  then lectured in Dorset.

After a ten year period leading a development programme  I was appointed founding director and curator of The Study Gallery, Poole - later known as KUBE.

During the gallery’s development period  I was seconded from the senior lecturing post as Art Adviser for Dorset LEA.

I've also undertaken project leadership roles with The Clore Foundation, The National Trust and the BBC  and was freelance director of Dorset Visual Arts, a charity focussed on supporting artists, designers and makers through projects, publications, peer to peer professional development and events."
